---This is an example of a 71' Marshall 10watt, 2-10" combo I picked it up at a small guitar show in Connecticut 8 years ago for $450! I believe the model number is #1930. Marshall 10w #1\ As you can see it has a beautifully aged basketweave salt and pepper grill aged to an even brown hue! The panel is a brushed metal one with controls, left to right of; speed, Intensity,Tone, volume, Low and high imputs, Tone, volume, low and high imputs. Marshall 10 Like most earlier Marshalls, one channel is dark and the other has more treble emphasis. The speakers are two 10" ceramic magnet Goodman power range 15w speakers. This is good because being a Marshall that 10 watts is very loud. Now with the speakers being a total of 30 watts we can play this bad boy on 11 all night long with no worries. YEAH! Marshall 10w #3
---The amp is pretty reasonable to carry around being 20"H x 24"W x 9"D. Just about right! Next, the circuit. Pass if your not interested in circuit topologies as this is why it sounds like it does. I'll not be too technical!
---It has one preamp tube with a shared cathode, a first stage which feeds the simple tremolo circuit and second stage off that cathode,as well as taking a signal off the 1st stage plate, then fed to a long tail phase inverter into a very interesting tube. Its's two ECL86 that has a driver stage and power stage in one tube! Not seen much in too may popular guitar amps. In fact, quite rare. The signal goes in the tube after phase inversion is achieved, comes out again to the driver circuit , back in again to be amplified and out to the tiny, cute, output transformer. It's less than 1/2 the size of your fist. Enough of that............
---This amp has had a few minor repairs and I've never gotten around to see if there "proper". It only runs on 220v so if you look carefully you'll see a small step up transformer hanging down near the speakers. I'm having a time trying to find orientation yielding the least noise. Now, What's it sound like you ask? Well here's the fun, you decide! All three clips were done with a 61' SGLP w/ PAF's. Bridge, neck and middle settings were used on two solo, one rhythm track. Volume and tone on 11 on the amp and levels from the guitar. I recorded into the computer mike w/ mike level at 50% due to loud amp volume.
--Ist up- bass channel- neck pickup backed off to 8, tone 10 thru bass channel.

--2nd up- Lead channel- bridge pickup full up, about half way thru the neck pickup takes over till the last chord.
http://www.everythingsg.com/sounds/10w_marshall_leadchannel_bridge-neck.wav
--3rd up- lead channel, middle setting, more bridge than neck, full up, slightly backed neck tone, rhythm track.
http://www.everythingsg.com/sounds/10w_marshall_leadchannel_bridgepickup_rhythm.wav
--The amp has mostly low cost ceramic disc caps which make this amp sound characteristically grainy. This is good or less good depending on what YOU like.It does have the Marshall crunch but not as much sing as the bigger, more common models have. You can pull a cry out of it and things can tend to hang on the verge of feedback but again it's easier with it's bigger cousins. It's not quite as touch sensitive as I would of liked it to have been. I was tempted to use some pedals as they worked very well here but then you wouldn't know the dry sound of the amp, but, with the right ones it will work on any small gig or rehearsal where sound levels are a problem! Down low, they loose their spunk fast, so be warned! I'm not sure what these sell for now but if you have the extra dosh it could be a fun addition to your arsenal. Try first though as there not for everyone's needs and definitely have some sonic limitations. This was a mid level-entry level amp. And depending on the cost one is offered for, I feel on a sliding scale, the money might be more well spent elsewhere..... It's a cool little gem though....If this proves popular perhaps we could look at an Ampeg EchoTwin next? Anyone else get to play one of these?

Essesseel, I used to have to do that too, and a lot of times they never opened up so I downloaded from Micro's site and upgraded to a newer version of windows media player and solved the problem.I really didn't want their fruity new player as it's not the summer of 66' and I don't care for their light show on the left side of the screen! Unless I'm having those battery acid spritzer's again!
