A little knowledge is a very dangerous thing. Was thinking about the Route 66.

Well.... try this on for size -

Compressor, which can be bypassed, just your basic two knob compressor, then BluesBreaker (I really love this pedal), in that order. Either section can be bypassed of course.

So I was looking at things... the BB has more than enough balls to drive a classic Fender/Marshall tone stack instead of just a single cut/boost... so add that in there.

If its done up correctly, with a bit of tweakage, this ought to go from just barely gritty to over the top.

I'm getting tired of 9v, hate wall wart connections... was thinking of a recharge system. Can do a nice small 12v lead-acid gell cell in there... and still make it fit in a reasonably sized case.

Controls would include (in order of signal path)
Compression
Drive (really the compressors volume control)
Gain (input to the BB)
Treb
Mid (may omit the mid.... dunno)
Bass
Volume

Like a good amp... it will have the tone stack at the end of the gain stages.

All thoughts appreciated! Another SG Schematic (my thanks to Lagger)

Internal mix control to blend, Parallel,compressor/straight sound to you taste. At 50/50 you'd get the best of both worlds. Strong Attack, not squashed, and good compression at the same time with suite to taste.

Use an Orange squeezer and/or a Ross circuit for the compression mode!

CB do you have the first series BB'er?

my BBer is a clone I built from 1st series circuit

Was just gonna build another, add that ross/orange-squeezer in front of it, with a different output on the BB to accomodate the tone stack.

Ought to be easy to mess with a variable bypass for the comp or BB or both independant. Another SG Schematic (my thanks to Lagger)

Maybe I should wait before I buy that Route 66 from MF. Do you require any test engineer's for this project? hehehe... Yes charlie I'll send it right back to you at the end of the week after testing is complete - yeah right!
After joining this site I am amazed to learn that there is so much out there for DIY pedals, I had no idea of the resources available, its really pretty cool.. I wonder if I could slip another neat hobby like this one past the better half!

yes... just say its a bargain, worth $100's of dollars, and you got it for only $25, but it needs a bit of work... which you can do

That line works about 3 times, then you'll have to switch tactics.

Bribery helps. Another SG Schematic (my thanks to Lagger)

yes, I have had to resort to bribery in the past, good followup tactic...
