whats the best distortion pedal youve ever played? the boss blues driver is the sweetest overdrive pedal i have ever played on. (the bad monkey was sweet but i dont have that anymore)
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? I recently messed around with the new Vox Satchurator..........Sweet!!
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? bacon, I only have two distortion pedals these days and care to guess which ones? Boss blues driver and bad monkey.
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? What a loaded question. As a Metal Guitarist, I find myself stuck on the Digitech Metal Master Morphed at the 2:00 o'clock position. Playing Rock I love my new Digitech Hardwire SC-2 Valve Distortion. It is PERFECT!!!
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? I rather liked the Visual Sound Jekyl and Hyde, boost and distortion in one box. The Keeley modded DS-1 was nice too.
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? Blues Driver over here too. To quote Spinal Tap, "When you need that extra... Push over the cliff..." That pedal + SG = Amazing harmonics/feedback/tone
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? An old Maestro Fuzz is my favorite. I use it with my 57 Classic loaded '90 SG Special and my '76 JMP 50w. It gets a pretty sweet tone through my Silver face '70's Fender Champ too. I just dial all the knobs to 6 on the Champ and the Maestro. A Boss DS 1 through the JMP can get a pretty sweet "brown" tone, too.

Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? I have a RAT, some people hate them. But I love mine too much
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed?
whats the best distortion pedal youve ever played?
LOL...if I would have played one, it would be the only one I'd probably have. As it is I got a whole bunch of them....they're OK just nothing special. As far as in the OD department I keep going back to an old Tube Sctreamer...guess I've been using it for ever it seems. By now I'm so use to it that I don't notice whether it's good or bad.....just familiar sounding ;D.
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? I certainly have not tried them all, but my long-term favorite has been a Tube Works Tube Driver, the 3 knob white one designed by Butler. It is set up with a NOS 12AU7 rather than an AX7 and it has just the tone I want that way. I am the original owner, bought it in the 80's. I to have had and still own a number of others, with a nod to the original MXR Distortion + from the 70's, a great jazz-fusion sounding box, and to the ubiquitous Boss DS-1 which can sound very good and is cheap! I'm not a modern metal player, so that super-distorted sound is not what am looking for, more of the classic 60's and 70's sounds. However I do need to check out some of the newer designs, some look very promising.
Re: best distorion pedal youve ever palyed? Voxy made that for me.......It doesn't even use batteries! ;D
