Bigsby B5 and V5 Vibramate

    When I've added Bigsby's I've usually positioned the Bigsby over the studs and popped a pickup mounting spring into the stud hole which maintains the earth connection - or I've used a VibraMate. :)

    The main reason I have that bar there is to keep a good break angle over the bridge. Epiphone uses the early sixties joint on the sg, so the angle of the neck is not as steep, and the bridge sits rather low compared to the current gibsons. Without the bar I have to put the bridge way higher than I normally wound, so the strings don't pop out the saddles.

    It doesn't really seem to make difference on tuning stability.
