    I have to admit, watching him and Roy rip it up on "Hee Haw" was a major inspiration to me.

    I used to (and still do occasionally) play "Streets of Bakersfield" after hearing him duetting with Dwight Yoakam. Great song. He's been a big influence on country - and don't forget the Beatles did "Act Naturally".
