I can dream, can't I?
You're in luck then, because you can snap these guys up for a HELL of deal..a LOT of SG, but not a lot of $$$.
SG-I, or later SG-X mid/late '90's and a hell of a guitar. has a 500T pickup stock, and a coil tap. I added the cover to mine..
You could easily build your dream with one of these as your platform, and not have to spend way too much.
It's my doom metal Junior!
And tone wise, it delivers...24 frets too.

You can also use it to mock up mods to your SG.
Guess I'm pretty simple now that I think about it:
AWESOME looking guitar
I could live with something like that...
Welcome to ETSG!
I love this!!
Call me boring or traditional, but this is what I dig:
However, this is what I REALLY DIG:
Yeah, Baby, Yeah!
Personally I was curious about the guitars you can order from Montag. So I designed one. Here it is.
Not too shabby
I'd like the green a tad darker and fully transparent, but you get the idea.
Ooops...forgot to do the tuners on that one.
This one is purely for aesthetic gorgeosity:
this great thread is like a library of the creative soul of
our ETSG community. It's almost more fun to look through
it than it is to go to the site and start putting your dream together.
Thanks Kevy for finding and posting this. it's one of ETSG's most successful
Guess I'll have to play with this when I'm not on the Kindle.....
since the last ones I tried (some years ago) are not working anymore. I already have my dream SG, which you can find here: http://www.everythingsg.com/threads/nad-or-15-ncb-1x12-vintage-30.30550/
In case I had to design a new one, I would go for a more hotter set up, as mine is pretty sweet looking (imo). the new one would be something like a Van Hallen SG, but still retaining some classical elements? if that makes sense.
