Anyone else notice these Clear SG's on the Bay:
Ya know AC30 ive always been intrieged by those clear guitars.first one i ever seen was that dude in Georgia Satilites playin one.i seen a off brand acrylic V at the local music store here a couple months ago but you could see some cracks around neck joint and screws.it was a no name job though.i like the clear SG,cool.wonder how it sounds with no wood
I went lookin on ebay and theres even acrylic guitars with blue led lights.or one you can fill with colored water .kinda cool
they're heavy as F**K!
Charlie Star with Blackberry Smoke plays one now and again. not sure the brand.
There's a Korean company that makes acrylic strat-shaped things for $300 or so, can't remember the name. Apparently they weight quite a bit. Kinda tacky looking IMO.
When I used to surf ebay I noticed some acrylic guitars made under the Galveston brand name.....an SG and a V. Looked interesting. Don't see too many of the Dan Armstrong acrylic guitar's or basses lately.....Those were apparently available from time to time.
I think that one I posted a pic of is a Galveston
That's the company brand, from Korea.
Theres a few Dan Armstrong clear guitars and basses on ebay but cost more than those
I believe those were the first successful acrylic guitars....design date's back to the '70's
I can play clearly now the wood is gone,
No more splinters from the buckle rash.
Everybody's gonna love my tone,
The wood is gone, gone,
Organic free play.

Things are always a bit clearer once the wood is gone.
I have read that acrylic-body guitar's sound somewhat like mahogany. I don't necessarily believe that. But then again I've never tried one. One of these day's I might....if I find one cheap cheap....but I haven't seen one in person in all my years LOL.
I hear that they have little blue pills for that
...and if the wood last's for more than 4 hours, see a physician a.s.a.p. LOL
More like have the poor lil lady you're with see the physician!!
Not an SG but as clear as water all the same.
A buddy of mine got a Galveston acrylic Flying V in a trade. It weighs as much as my amp.
Electrical Guitar Company - Electrical Guitar Company | The finest aluminum instruments
These guys specialize in aluminum guitars, though they do make acrylics bodies as well (and wood sometimes!) Guitars so nice, Steve Albini actually said something positive!
If you go to Models | Electrical Guitar Company and scroll down to "EGC DS" you can see their acrylic-bodied SG-type thing. I'd love to have one in aluminum.
Those are cool guitars.was checkin um out.i knew that dude for the Melvins had a aluminum guitar.read about it in guitar player mag.i seen the Melvins years ago at a thing the local comunity college put on call Grunge fest.it was at like a small town fair grounds.but im like 160 miles south of Seattle so there ya go
