Hi.
The case I got with my 67 standard fits the guitar itself well but when the case is closed the top of the case presses down on the whammy bar which I'm guessing isn't good for the guitar to be stored that way with less tension on the Neck? Or am I wrong about this.
My concern is every time I open and close the case the Neck is getting different tensions.

What are your thoughts?
I'm also wondering if this is the original case for this year SG?

You can see in the photo where the tip of the whammy bar has rubbed on the inside of the top of the case.

I've seen other 67's with a rectangle shaped case. Do you think mine is not the original case?

Anyone here with the same issue?
Anyone here with a 67 standard with the same case as mine?

if that trem has a nut on the other side of the screw replace the nut with one of those plasti lock nuts.that way you can loosen the trem screw so the trem arm will swing free but the nut wont fall off.just a thought there

I've tried with the bar towards the back but it hits the top there too and puts more tension on the neck.

Guitarweasel has(or had) a '67 Special with the correct case. It might be worth shooting him a pm, as I don't think he checks in very often these days.

I bet I am not far off base, but I suspect if one is looking to buy a "proper" 1967 case, he might be faced with it costing $250 just for a case.

Too rich for my blood unless it is a sweet Anvil road case or something for that price. I also detach my Strat Whammy bars when putting guitar in case. If I had your 67, I would find a easy to detach/ reattach nut like Johnny says

What about taking the plastic off the arm, will that give you more room?
