OMG!
My first guitar ever!
The original ones didn't have the "split" Tailpiece.
They also had non concentric volume and tone knobs
and a top mounted jack.
The guitar came in its acoustic form with 3 chrome
caps covering the control and output jack holes.
You bought the pickup/control assembly separately
and it was a drop in through the sound hole.

Well I have a 1999 Sparkle Purple one heading my way.......I wasnt going to do it---- but the Cale video I watched while researching the guitar......punched it over the edge.
