Dating an SG Custom bought 8/1/1972 S#954594 Pots 1377018

    Great fine, great daughter, and she still plays great! Everything just like the day I bought it. It was in a friends closet for 40 years! Just finished playing some Santana that I use to play, Europa in particular. Much easier and better sustain than my Dillion through a Peavey VK 212

    PTL, I put new strings on and got this picture under the pickguard. Appears to be a 1970 for sure correct?

    Really beautiful guitar. I've always really liked those Customs. There's something about them.

    I have a '72 SG Custom. One of the differences is the Pot hole routing is on the front side.

    Sounds like a 1972 SG Deluxe, not a Custom.
