Good point and you're right. The Strad was a masterpiece when it was finished because there were objective reasons to make that measure. Other artifacts are valuable for more subjective reasons.

i sound like ur-da-dy, ur-da-dy, ur-da-dy, ur-da-dy... i never flogged anything but i did help a friend drag a dead horse to be taken away... did you know horses are large & heavy?

did you try putting your fingers in the correct place @ the correct time?

Van Halen recalls at one point a meeting with Ted Nugent after sound check: He’s going, “Let me play your guitar!” I go, “Okay, here you go.” He starts playing my guitar and it sounds like Ted. He yells,”You just removed your little black box, didn’t you? Where is it? What did you do?” I go, “I didn’t do anything!” … He says, “Here, play my guitar!” I play his big old guitar and it sounds just like me. He’s going, “You little s—!”

i never heard about them but i read them a lot...

when i saw zep on the physical graffiti tour 3 light-years from the stage with my brother we said "that looks like a Danelectro"...

This is something that always crosses my mind.

We often write our thoughts about famous players and sometimes they do read us. And probably laugh a lot.

One of the forums I participate in features a handful of known players, including Joe Bonamassa.

I doubt Pagey bothers he is into more archaic type things such as art and is old school to the bone.'Now Bonamassa on the other hand yeah he pretty new school
and open and grounded and totally into every second as guitars and I agree
with alothe says except the fact he always takes up for old school Kluson 14.1
ratio and how guys ruined collectible guitars by GROVERED he always well it got GROVERED LOL well Yeah because often the Klusons wont hold tune for sh$T.

So much to do about nothing. Replicating Pagey's git will not make you Pagey. He could come over to your practice space in your mothers basement, pick up your #1 or even your Daisey Rock git and still sound like Pagey.

An artist's sound mostly is their connect between their brain and instrument and the physical attributes of their fingers etc.
