"Fender case for Strat or Tele circa '59 / '60, brown Tolex with GOLD interior. One broken latch but parts are all there, just need to be fixed. Overall excellent condition."
Let's suppose I repaired the broken latch with vintage old parts. Would that make the case more valuable or less valuable?

This is precisely why I bought a Line 6 Flextone III XL amp.
I have the Dumble Overdrive Special emulator patch that nails it as close as you can get without paying $85K for an amp.
With the shortboard, I have reverb and boost and with the BBE Sonic Stomp I can get it to really brighten up with my Tele. Close enough for me.....

Me too!. Uh, that's an interesting thought, "brighten up" a Tele. They usually are very bright sounding guitars. Does yours have humbuckers or the older single coils?
I have the Fender Squire Vibe tele with RS pots and a set of Wylde Keystones.
The Sonic Stomp does something similar to what Brian May has. The 12" speakers give a nice warm tone and the brightness is interesting when playing leads and certain parts. Just another toy to play with I suppose.
