Recently picked up a '59 Tweed Bassman Reissue. Only paid $700 for the amp. It's from he late 90's/early 2000's. First thing I did was take it to an amp tech and have it gone through. Was told this amp meeds absolutely nothing and is squeaky clean inside and out and they even commented on how nice the amp was. Only thing I did was replace the 12AY7 in V1 (previous owner did that apparently to increase clean headroom) with a 12AX7. Didn't sound that great with the 12AY7 but came to life with the 12AX7. Really nice cleans, and surprisingly can play this amp at "manageable" levels at home.

Threw a Nobels ODR-1 between the guitar and amp, and holy heck this amp is a beast! Amp is still running clean (not turned up loud enough for natural amp OD) but with the ODR-1 it really does an amazing job of sounding like natural overdrive. It cleans up great depending on the attack, and just rocks when hit hard.

SG < ODR-1 < Tweed Bassman really is a magical combination!

Even if this is a guitar forum, you know we do need to see that Bassman.

That must be a awesome combination! I've played through a Tweed Bassman reissue before and played a SG before, but never played a SG through a Tweed Bassman before yet. That's got to be a really nice sound.

While I know you guys are discussing the SG+ 59 Bassman, I have a number of Bassman clips stored in my Bookmarks, BECAUSE I just can't escape the sound.

Here are some I retrieved. Do yourselves a favor and listen to these with HEADPHONES or the best Stereo Speakers you can find.
