    Hi Folks,
I got one of those Stew Macdonald magnetic polarity testes and I have just tried it on my Fender strat.
I notice that on the neck pup and the bridge pup I get the N pole, but on the mdidle pup it's the S pole... should they not all be all the same polarity facing the strings?
I can see this damping the string quite severely...

Any ideas from you gurus and pundits?

    Love and Xmas kisses!

Most strats these days have a RWRP (reverse wound, reverse polarity) middle pickup, so that in switch position 2 and 4 it has a humbucking effect.

;D I see you spotted my type then!!!

And, of course - that explains the lack of hum when on 2 pups!!

My lone testicle wasn't thinking it thru...
