Yesterday I went to check my bank balance & found out my tax return had came in, so I did the most logical thing I could, buy an SGJ in Fireburst! It won't be here for at least a few more days, but I'll be (im)patiently awaiting her arrival. :ohno: Unfortunately, my SGJ GAS is increasing. I don't know how I'll be able to keep it together :laugh2:

Good luck waiting. We need pictures when it arrives. I have the vintage sunburst and I love it.

"I think maybe the opposite would help my case, like maybe people post pics of their Fireburst SGJ's?"

Here you go:

"April 15 means Uncle Sam wants his money to me. That's like the opposite of NGD!"

You must be a bidness owner, too. I haven't gotten a tax refund since the 90s. Had t give the pricks a refund, with interest, a few times.

Call it NVD, or New Vaseline Day. Yes I'm bitter. Check out this album cover, guys. I had no idear Mick Taylor rocked an SG. Thought he was a Lester man exclusively.

Don't mean to hijack, but we're all waiting on your SGJ delivery. The suspense!

I have a quick question to add, I want to make an ebony pickguard for it, but I've noticed that with those 24 frets, the spacing might not work for a regular sg pickguard diagram. Is there a special way I have to do it to make it work?

Welp, looks like she came a day earlier than Guitar Center said she would, but here she is! A good friend of mine took the pics with his new camera he's still getting used to, but I think they turned out pretty great:applause:

Ok, now for the review. Before I got it, I was thinking I would need to instantly upgrade the stock pickups if I wanted to use it for metal, but these are some of the best stocks I've ever used! They handle high gain amazingly, & they have so much bite & grit to them. Of course, they sound best playing some classic rock with some vintage crunch through them, but I was shocked at their metal capabilities. I'm still gonna toss in a SD Custom in the bridge & a '59 in the neck, but they can wait.

Now for the feel, the fretboard plays like butter, the satin neck really lets your hands glide while shredding. My only complaint is that some of the frets stick out a tiny bit, it doesn't effect playability but I'm just picky. I'll have to get a file out one of these day.

The finish is beautiful, pics do not do it justice at all. Indoors the colors aren't that vibrant, but in the sunlight it really brings out it's true finish, & really shows why they named it Fireburst. It's a little too satiny for my liking for that particular finish so I'm gonna do THIS to solve that little issue.

Overall, I'd say it's worth twice the price. $500 for a great quality Gibson is a steal at the least. I sat down & messed around with most of the other 2014 Gibson SG models when I first tried one of these out, & I could barely tell any difference between this & the higher end Standard models, just for the pickups & finish. Well there's the end to my Gibson rant/praise. This is my first Gibson, & I'm sure it won't be my last. I'll soon post a review video when I get the time.

Very nice pics. Thanks for posting. The SGJ's are a hit from what I've seen here.
They are a lot of Gibson for price!

Welp, spring finally came today in Ohio, so I took some pics of my new favorite guitar. :applause:I seriously couldn't have picked a better guitar to buy, & I'm still as excited about her as the day she came in.

Lastly, here's the Ebony knobs I got, I'm gonna add a piece of Amber to the tops of them.
