Anyone know why Epiphone Changed their Neck heel? The latest ones have a long heel, the old ones are shallower, Seems like the old one give you a more easy access to lower frets, but the old ones are similar to Gibson specs. thoughts?

I can't see how heel shape has any incidence on lower frets access ? Did you mean higher frets ?

I'm unaware of this difference. A 2008 G-400 pro heel looks like the heel on my 2005 and 2002. Can you show pictures to compare?

I'd say the new one has a stronger joint, but you might have to ask Mr Epiphone himself.

It looks like the new one has "lost the shoulders." That should work better for the top two frets.

Isn't this just the difference between a '61 and a later Standard?
