I've never encountered an SG with small guard (1961-1965) having a baseball bat neck.

1970 SG Junior...
They cut the baseball bat in half lengthwise and glued a fretboard on top.

Oh wow! Thats thick, well Im not super obssessed over neck shapes, Im mostly only familiar with slim tapers and Strat necks. Its just the neck felt thicker than a slim taper and felt nothing like my SGs at home, I have small hands so it was noticeably different in feel for me.

The new '64 Reissue has a thicker neck than the Historic '61 Reissue, which is also thicker than the '50s Rounded profile used on the Standard and Special for many years.

My2019 ‘64 CS w Maestro is a grail type guitar.
It really feels like a sixties guitar. Worth it to me (at the time).
My 2021 ‘61 RI standard w Maestro is very good, and a better value.

That said, my 2021 SG Standard sounds better with its standard 490’s, and the neck is perfect.

It's not only the thickness, but the amount of shoulder that can make two necks with the same thickness feel different.

Indeed, and to be clear, I believe all of those are C profile, except the USA Slim Taper D. I'm a fan of C necks.

It's funny, I've watched you post this measurement picture off and on for months, so I decided to do the same thing on some of my own necks. Even the SG Classic barely cracks an inch at the 12th and most of the others come in at a little under. That neck is friggin' huge! Now I think I get the "baseball bat" neck reference with a bit more perspective.
