The Sitar Man.
I don' t know his music but no problem, happy birthday .
Happy birthday Ravi. Only music I've heard was at Woodstock (video)
I knew there was someone, other than myself, that knew who he is and what he does so well.
I thought everyone knew him. I went to a concert given by him and his daughter Anoushka -both amazing players. Norah is no slouch either - a rather talented family.
I first heard of Ravi when my brother had his awesome record collection in house around 1970-73. And saw some "music festival" footage of him (woodstock or monterey pop) around that time also.
It's nice to see it turned out to be a "family business".
A cult icon of the time! Happy B-day man and far out! I think he played with just about everybody back in the day.
I've got a Ravi Shankar station on pandora. That's what I fall asleep to every night.
