I know, I know, it's not a guitar or an amp, but I thought I'd share the results of a very productive visit to one of my favorite pawn shops... 3 hard shell cases!
Been looking for a hard case for the jazz bass for a while, as well as one that a tele or strat would fit in. I popped into a local pawn shop and one of the employees asked if I'd been in a few weeks looking for a case - I had. He says that the store has a bad habit of not including the case with a guitar when the guitar sells, and that they're bringing all the cases out from the back room. Prices weren't high because they were supposed to have gone with sold guitars, they just need to get them out of the shop. A bit of a let down for those folks (myself being one of them a few months ago), but there was nothing to be done about it.
Roadrunner bass case in pretty good condition was $35US.
Tweed case was $20!
The other case was $10 and is missing a latch which I can fix for a few bucks. I got it thinking it would probably fit an SG or Les Paul (they didn't have either in the store to test out), but it's too shallow for the Gibson or Epiphone head angle. The tele fits in it okay, I'll keep it cause it's a cool case that may come in handy later on.
