Fortunately, I've been lucky, so far! Thank the stars....but the high's seem to go first with guitar players as they like to use trebley shrill amps and they sound fine to them.......

Unfortunately for anyone that's standing in front of it, it does sound fine.... and is fine...... but the damage potential is still there.................

(Gotta admit though, it does come in handy..... when I don't wanna hear something, I can blame it on an old RNR injury.............. )

now I'm not usually a fan of his music but I thought this was pretty cool 8) One of the clips has some really cool sounding behind-the-nut bends and stuff.

I've been to gigs of friend of mine's dad. small room with amps way too loud = no hearing for 3 days! seriously. if you didn't hang on to your drink it would start vibrating off the table. and having too much too drink that night meant I felt practically dead the next day... I have a slight ring in my ears but only in when it's quiet. but I'm only 17 so plenty of time for it to get worse.

SeanH, Daniel - and everybody else: get out and buy some hearing protection. And use it. You can get earplugs especially made for use by musicians for a few euros at your nearest instrument pusher dealer.

I agree with that even though it's prolly too late for me. Trust me, doing it now will save your ears for the future............... :coolsmiley:

I wear em now, but when I was younger i wasnt as wise...and went out front row at metal concerts (I love classic metal...odd for a punk huh?) then I would hit blues cafes, where they had wailing highs, and heavey lows...

still I think the phone is ringing sometimes..
