I took up guitar in my mid 20's and for the past 10 years have been acoustic only. Not sure why, just really got into that side of things.

I had a child a couple of years ago and my practice time is now virtually zero. As my man cave is in the house and the guitars are too noisy. So I decided to get one of these guitars you plug in. Just for practice with headphones. Well I went in the store planning to buy a low level £150 starter guitar. Walked out with an SG special. They didn't have a standard. Just as well, it may have caused a divorce.

What an amazing machine, why did I wait so long to see the light? I wish I had knocked my wife up 10 years ago.... Although , I wouldn't have had the money for an SG back then, so everything happens for a reason.

Anyway, I am rambling now. Will post some pics soon. Glad to be aboard.

Jim

PS does anyone elses SG speak to them? I swear I hear mine whisper "Burn the Martin"

Welcome.

You probably shouldn't listen to the SG and burn the Martin (they are great guitars too), but you've certainly got yerself a fantastic guitar there.

Welcome GoGoJim :naughty::D

Like your style... From a starter guitar to Gibson, just what I'd have done if I could have dropped the cash :thumb:

Be warned, SG'S are addictive! ... not in a bad way though!

And as for the Martin.... Sell it, and get another SG :cool:

I could never sell the Martin. It's a D-15, probably one of the most "SG" guitar Martin do. It's all mahogany and often overlooked due to the D-28's etc. We have been through a lot together.

I am open to offers for the child though...:D
