I cant find much info on this model. I was told it is a 71 Deluxe SG. Most of the ones I've seen have pots connected to the front with another black plate similar to the pickguard. This one doesn't. Also it doesn't have the normal tune-o-matic, but a more beefy looking bridge. What is the deal with these? Are the ones with the pots installed from the back any more valuable than the ones that are connected to the plate on the front. Any help would be great.

I may be not be much help in identifying what you have but I think I can help telling you what you dont have. I'm reasonable sure you dont have a 71 Deluxe. I've been told that mine is a 71 SG Deluxe and yours doesnt look like mine. What is the serial number?

My serial number is 619672 which is consistent numbers I saw on a vintage site that listed these dates/serials
000000's 1973
100000's 1970-1975
200000's 1973-1975
300000's 1974-1975
400000's 1974-1975
500000's 1974-1975
600000's 1970-1972, 1974-1975
700000's 1970-1972
800000's 1973-1975
900000's 1970-1972
From looking at everythingsg.com site, it appears that the pickup covers with the embossed "Gibson" on them would mean it is a 71 but there are others who claim the only year they did that was 72. Mine has the embossed covers but I dont know who is correct.
Also the Deluxe in 71-72 had the Les Paul style floating pickguard and front loaded pots/switches with a plastic cover and has binding on the neck. The tailpiece has "Gibson" stamped on it instead of Bigsby. (Cant read what yours has)

Looks more like a mid-70's Standard to me.

+1 and it has the Schaller "harmonica" bridge and a Bigsby or Maestro tailpiece. Not sure if the knobs are correct for the guitar. I would guess '74 or '75 era for the year when it was made.
Value depends on who's buying I suppose as compared to a '71.
