    A bit scratched on the back? :)
    Actually, rather nice. That's a good colour.

    The serial number puts it at 2007, made in Unsung China? So what exactly does that mean for this guitar?

    If it's 2007 MIC then it's not a Vintage it's a Faded. Funny though, I thought the gold headstock inlay was only on Vintage models.

    I was thinking the same. but the neck inlays are usually gold-ish too. still looks like a winner.

    The inlays are kind of yellowish.
    The neck has a scarf joint but other then that, it looks more like a chinese vintage, not a faded....

    What is the serial, you have a picture of it ?
    U = Unsung Korea
    UC = Unsung China

    It has some of the attributes of the Vintage: gold heastock inlays and neck binding. Doesn't seem to have veneer, hard to tell. Strange that it would have a scarf joint. You've seen it ?

    Try to get more photos. Back of the whole headstock with at least a few inches of neck to see bout the scarf joint. There should also be glued wings on the headstock, like on a Gibson. It should also have a long tenon, but the neck pup has to be pulled to see that.

    Headstock wings.

    i thought there are no china made 'vintage / faded' without a veneer?
    this doesnt look to have a veneer...so shouldnt it be a 03/04 korean made?
    then again, i have seen a 06 china made with a veneer that almost matches the body grain...none of that extra streaky veneer that they used later on.

    I have picked it up, because I couldn't let it slip for 160 euros and it is a beautiful guitar!
    And the fact that there are so many contradicting features makes it even more interesting :-)

    So there is a scarf joint, the serial number starts with UC07, the logo and crown are gold, the inlays are goldish and I am still unsure if there is a veneer....doesn't look like it and if there is, they have done a LOT better job at matching grain and color than they currently do.

    As soon as I change the strings I will check the pickups and tenon, but not now, because I don't seem to have a new set.
    The small ding you see on the headstock is really the only blemish I could find.

    Strange one ...
    Matte headstock, the Vintage is glossy.

    I bet there won't be a long tenon. You can just loosen the strings to pull out the neck pup. I do it all the time.

    Non veneer: watch closely for top grain to follow down the bevels.

    Exactly, for that price, I can even live with the veneer (it indeed has one, I can tell from the edges of the bevels)
    It looks way better in reality than it does in the pictures.

    So the only resemblance to a Vintage up to now are neck binding and gold headstock inserts. More a garnished Faded :) Still not a bad price.
