I love my SG

I found this forum when I bought my SG a few weeks back. I just want to express my thanks to all of you with the advice and knowledge I have found in this forum.

I was on a quest to buy a les paul a few weeks ago and after visiting many dealers on a two day stretch and playing close to 50 les pauls, I couldnt seem to find the one for me. There were about two that I really liked but there were small issues that I didnt like. Color, Pick Guard, price, etc....etc....

In frustration as I was about to give up I picked up an SG. I had not even considered an SG before. My first impression was on the weight of the guitar. Now I know how Angus can run miles on stage with it. Secondly, I noticed how nice the neck felt in my hands. Its a perfect fit!!! And third, The salesman plugged me in to a Marshall and I blew myself away!!! Then he mentioned to me that the Gibson Hard shell case was included in the price roolin:

I said to him........SOLD!!!

My only regret is that I didnt do this twenty years ago. After playing mediocre guitars my whole life, I have found the perfect guitar for me. The Fit, The feel, The sound, The beauty.........I doubt I will ever buy another brand the rest of my life. And we have this great website to back it up with all the info we could ever need.

Very Kool Tide! 8) 8) 8) You are amongst SG lovers here...... but don't close the door on ALL guitars. There are ... a few ... other good guitars out there and to be totally blind to them could keep you from experiencing the joy of playing them. So if another one touches you soul and it happens not to be an SG...... then we certainly wouldn't hold it against you...... ;D

I agree that gibson's production model sg's are the best buyof all gibsons, especialy when compared to the overpriced les pauls and custom shop stuff (which is great stuff but $$$).

I think SGs are better than Les Pauls, but my favorite guitar is the Les Paul Junior.

Congrats on the SG, Tide. I love the ebony finish on the Standard. Might have to get a used one when the funds aren't so scarce!
