Just had to get one of these. Read some good things. Heard some good things.....
But I've seen some "soundtank" pedal's with pieces missing, and in non-working condition.
A really clean example of a CM5 though. .kevins camera 252.jpg .kevins camera 257.jpg

Sound's very nice with either ceramic humbucker lightweight strat or the Mean 90 semi-acoustic. Blues to '80's metal. Early Iron Maiden and Judas Priest type sound's with the humbucker. More heavy-rock-ish with the Mean 90. The pedal with distortion maxed played through the newly purchased Sunn on channel B with the built-in amp overdrive halfway up or more, it can get heavier and a bit more early thrash.
Also nice there's no velcro on the bottom of the pedal.

I still have one of the Soundtank pedals; it sounds good but the switch is iffy so I don't use it much.

Yeah so I've read, and have been told, and witnessed...."Tactile switches" they call 'em? Some guy's end up re-housing their pedal's if they like them that much.

I'd like to see your pedal board. I bet you have the rest of us beat for random outdated and awesome distortion pedals.

Yeah....I went a little crazy, but at least now I can choose from a few of them for specific sounds. Some lean towards OD or fuzz more than metal....but that's okay in many cases.
I should gather them all together for a group photo (very shortly).

60 Cycle Hum is going to post a YouTube review on Monday of some pedals that may be up your alley. There was an Instagram preview for it. Plugged into four pedals with all of them on. That's my kind of review.

Of all of these, the 3 main category's are filled:
Best OD=Washburn mx:1 metalhead....give's OD with single coils and good dirt with hot HB's
    Best Fuzz=Zvex Fuzzolo
Best Distortion=Classic Metal really amazes....tied with the Omnifex Metal Max (the later being more like a Boss HM-2). Both are great in their own ways. The Omnifex is little bit noisier. No biggie.
