The palm of my picking hand was getting poked by the strings where they're wrapped around on the ends as they come through the stop bar.
I finally got around to putting some insulation on the strings between the stop bar and the bridge.
See pictures . . .

I was surprised to hear the difference it made in the guitars sound.
Now I've got to do it to all of them.
Remember, Huntroll did it first !

What is your picking hand doing that far back behind the bridge? When I palm mute with a TOM, my palm rests over the bridge, not the stop bar.

Even when palm muting with a wraparound bridge I don’t have any issues.

Wondering if the strings you are using have some kind of unusual winding on the ball ends.

Totally good problem solving. I’d go with a drop of super glue. Or buy different strings.

He'd be lost with a wrap tail.

Off topic question: Is the tailpiece further away from the bridge than it usually is on a Les Paul?
