Hello everybody! I'm James, I'm new to this forum. I'm 13 years old and a proud owner of an Epiphone SG. I just thought I'd say hey and give a little intro to myself.

So, to start off, I'm 13 as I mentioned. I live about 60 miles south of Albany, New York. I play guitar, obviously. I'm totally self taught, too. I conveniently live a literal stones throw from a music store, where I purchased all of my guitar gear. So I use a Cherry Red Epiphone SG, a Crate Flexwave 15 watt amp, and some cheap tuner I bought with my very first guitar a few years ago. I only became so interested in guitar in about May of 2009, when I was at my friends house. He owned a cheap copy of a Stratocaster and I just couldn't stop hitting random frets. Of course I had no clue how to even play a G chord or what a fret was. I went home that night and got my old cheap Aria acoustic guitar out, went online and searched "guitar chords" and saw some charts showing chords, etc. I eventually figured out how to read them, and played a G as my first chord. One could only imagine the excitement! I then looked at some more chords, learned a D then a C... I learned 5 chords that night! So over a couple of months I got good, learned to read tablature and found some tabs for the song "Wish You Were Here" By Pink Floyd, got the intro to it down, got bored and learned more chords. But now I know lots of chords, and am working on learning "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin. So anyway, I got my SG in June and learned ALOT over the summer. Also, I'm into photography, I love music, and I enjoy lots of other weird stuff that no other 13 year olds on Earth do ;).

My favorite band is Radiohead and Led Zeppelin, but I also love Pink floyd, The Who, Rolling Stones, The Doors, Sigur Ros and well, you get the picture.

I hopw to be a valuable member here!

James

Welcome!

I played with a band called Myxomatosis and thought you were perhaps one of their members, but I live in Canada, so I would assume otherwise.

Nope, I'm a big Radiohead fan and Myxomatosis is one of my favorite tracks by them, that's where I got the name from.

P.S, your username speaks the truth!
