    Hey everyone,

I've seen this guitar on sale on Ebay go unsold a few times, and it just resurfaced again on my saved search. My curiosity got the better of me and I had a closer look at the photos, as I am a sucker for a white SG. :naughty:

Let's have some fun...what do you guys think it is? The seller says late '66...but I am thinking no dot on the "i" means later (as in, '69) and with tons of changed parts.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265143219016?hash=item3dbbc47348:g:tQYAAOSwNsVfRAcU&LH_ItemCondition=2500|3000|7000|1500

So obvious refin, changed knobs, tailpiece, extra screw on the guard to keep the warping down, questionable pots, changed tuners and probably a non-original truss rod cover? There is no specific mention of the pickups...

Still, looks kinda cool...not £2.2k cool...but still... :hmm:

The heel, and no dot on the "i" make it a '69.

69 likely, but could also be a 70 in my books.

Keep in mind the lack of an “I” in Gibson was common in 69, but the presence of one does not definitively make it one. As Gibson used logos the were laying around for years, it is not that uncommon to find other bindings of that “era” with the missing “I”

Even by late '69, it would have the stepped heel. This one is smooth, so it would have to be a '69. By 1970, it would have the new squared font logo and a volute as well.

This white SG does not inspire me confidence, the alignment of pole pieces and cords is doubtful...
