    I have a 2004 MiM and a Stratoclone with Fender SCN pickups. salvaged-reliced 2004 Fender Strat.JPG P1010111 (2).JPG P1010110 (2).JPG bstrat.jpg 1scnpg.jpg
The MiM is named Medianoche Azul or Noche, for short. She has a guitar fetish pickguard and pewter knobs with mop inlays. She is a very even tempered guitar with no issues or eccentricities. The black Stratoclone is the sum of some of my spare parts. The pickups are wired with a push-pull at T-2 so in the down position you have nominal Strat pickup selection, and in the up position you get a different mix of combinations.

Who are you kidding? G&Ls are as much of a Strat as any Fender :thumb:

I love G&Ls. They are so well built... here in the USA... at a reasonable price. And "reasonable price" for me means $1500 to $2000 for a high quality guitar. Sometimes I feel G&L doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

That's for sure. I've owned lots of Fenders, from the least expensive on up to Custom Shops, and the G&L's blow them all away, for a lot less money than CS Fenders. Some of the best build quality, hardware and pickups from any manufacturer regardless of price. And you can get customized features on a production instrument.

Here's the best I can do from where I am right now (only slightly better):

It's actually a Mary Kay (transparent white) finish over ash, with a really nice grain pattern visible.

The original BLACK body required some filling (dings) and paint.
I had sliver, red and white half packs left over from other work.
Fill, spray putty, silver, red and finally white. Between each coat rub back with 2 or 3 grades of wet & dry, finishing with 1,200 grit. Leave for a month to harden once finished. I got the idea after seeing a car in my area, it's silver and black undercoat but finished to a very high level.

Jay Turser Vintage. Real smooth fat neck, deglossed all around with Scotch Brite. Refinished body weights a ton, more than any guitar I own (I don't have boat anchor LP's), and it's not plywood. Pups are really impressive, especially in the neck.

What kind of wood would you say ?

Looks like ash to me, which can be quite dense.

Ha ha... if I had access to your bank for direct deposit, I might try a direct withdrawal instead. "What's in your account?"
