Very very very ugly.

Signature models have always been more expensive. Get a Classic or Special SG and you get the same tones without having to pay extra dinero for the endorsement and ugly apparatus like those pickup rings.

I was in a shop the other day and they had the new '61 "Les Paul" SG and it was $1759 AUD, didn't seem any nicer than my P90 Special I got for $800 a couple years ago. Maybe all the praise they've been getting online for the newer models is going to their heads.

That's weird. I clicked on the link in your initial post and it just took me to the opening page of long-mcquade. I searched but there was no Epiphone Iommi model anywhere. Was just curious how much they were selling them for. No Iommi SG on Epiphone's American website either.

It wasn't on the Epiphone/Gibson site. They must have jumped the gun and Epiphone asked them to take it down. Should have taken a screen shot. It was around $1000 something. Anyways, there's that photo that proves it is a thing.

I bought a new Epiphone SG Muse recently and the quality and attention to detail was second to none.

Easily as good or better than Gibson nowadays. Superb fretwork !

And at under $400, after wheeling and dealing, I was compelled to buy another one.

They are both solid metallic colors with humbuckers though. A purple and a gold one.

Sorry, but the pickup rings, coupled with a pickguard clearly meant for humbuckers, is just a major NO for me.

The little animated cartoon they have on the Epiphone page is pretty hilarious.

I know it is the history teacher in me, and I'm sure Tony had a completely innocent intent when he put that monkey sticker on his guitar, but the more I look and study it, the more the "monkey" sticker looks like a minstrel-Jim Crow stereotype. God knows the British could be just as insufferably racist as any American and yet I also could be completely wrong about the artist's intent. I could just be a funny cartoon character playing the violin. Anyone know anything about the artist that created the "monkey" sticker?
