LPF 18 watt marshall thread

Perhaps this topic would have had more response if the LPF was accessible by non-members. As it is I for one cannot be arsed to join just for the sake of reading the thread!

It's highly amusing war about whether the OP is a plant for fake 60s Marshall 18 watt amps (1974s).
Original ones are apparently worth a packet and mint ones the holy grail, which is news and of passing interest to me. I have a friend with a modern reissue and it sounds just like a mini marshall but I couldn't life with an amp so unreliable. He's so far replace three PTs.
Anyway, the OPs defence is to dig a hole so deep he can escape via China (which of course might mean his intentions weren't so sinister in the first place).
At one level you have to admire the technical knowledge of some of the posters. On another, you wonder if they have a real life.
It's a long read, quite humorous but at the same time informative. I usually wouldn't bother with but I'm on vacation at the moment. :)
