Make sure you check second hand equipment before plugging it in.

In an other post I mentioned that I got a Marshall 1960A cab in a deal. The guy got it and never tried it out.

For some unknown reason I decided to test the cabinet before plugging it in and it’s a good thing I did. The jacks from tip to sleeve both read zero ohms, a dead short. 😳 Had I plugged it in I could have toasted an output transformer or killed an expensive set of KT66s.

I had to gut it and I solder in a fresh set of wires. The poor thing was all confused inside.

Just a public service announcement. Check your stuff before you kill a good amp.

The contact area on their switches get corroded too. I would normally straight wire, like the older style but Mojo has replacements. The connectors are larger than “normal”, so you have to make it fit.
