In an other post I mentioned that I got a Marshall 1960A cab in a deal. The guy got it and never tried it out.
For some unknown reason I decided to test the cabinet before plugging it in and it’s a good thing I did. The jacks from tip to sleeve both read zero ohms, a dead short.
Had I plugged it in I could have toasted an output transformer or killed an expensive set of KT66s.
I had to gut it and I solder in a fresh set of wires. The poor thing was all confused inside.
Just a public service announcement. Check your stuff before you kill a good amp.
