I briefly owned an SG from the mid 2010s. I’m trying to figure out the specs. I highly regret selling it at the time but now finally reacquired a new sg (61 standard) a couple of months ago.

I love the heck out of this guitar but thinking of a pickups change and trying to remember what was in the old one i had.

I can’t remember the year but it was mid 2010s and l believe it was a gibson SG standard , came in a blue or midnight blue finish, and had a graphite nut and the robot tuners. i believe it had an anniversary stamp on the fretboard maybe 120? i’m trying to remember A: what model it was and what the differences are to my current 61 standard and B: what pickups they had cause i kinda loved them.

    not sure if anyone knows

Did it have trapezoid inlays or dots?

    Pelham Blue it sounds like.

Did it have a zero fret, 22 or 24 frets? Matte or Shiny finish?

yeah i’m pretty sure that was the model I had looks like classic 57s. and yeah it had trapezoid inlays on the fret the 12th one said 120 anniversary and 22 frets. it had a shiny finish not matte.

Also for some reason i had a terrible time keeping that one in tune even with regular tuners on. it just didn’t stay lol maybe it was just the graphite nut or however i had it set with the bridge or something. tone was awesome though

The finish was called Manhattan Midnight.

Sounds like a 2014 SG because of the '120' In-Lay @ 12Th Fret (some sort of anniversary thang ?). The GIBSON legacy pages only go back to 2015...... but I'd wager a bet that the Guitar had '57 Classics out of the factory...

The 2020-2021 SG Standard '61 has the Alnico 5 Magnet '61R/T Pickup combo and I really like them (after not liking them for a while) for their heavy tones. Got bored one day and I put an Alnico 2 Magnet '57 Classic Pickup in Combination with the A5 '61 R&T on 2 '57 Classic equipped SG Standards (one got the '61R in the Neck and the other got the '61T in the Bridge) and the '57/'61T - '61R/'57 Pickup combo is my new fav GIBSON Pickup combo....Surprisingly, it worked out really well. Ya might wanna give it a shot, the Middle Position on these two SG Standards that I did this to........ SCCCREEEEEMMM even better now !
