Moved topics

How come whenever there's a moved topic, it turns into a closed topic from a moderator with a link of the thread inside? How come the whole thing doesn't turn into a re-direct link to the original thread in the right forum? Is it just PHP?

Thats the way the Forum software was programmed. You'll have to ask at the SMF Forum.

The alternative is to just move it and leave no link, but then people might not be able to find it.
