    Well, guess what?

I couldn't sell my Epi. No one wanted to buy it. So, "what do I do?!", right?

I save for an Ebony G400.

    NOW DON'T GO FREAKING OUT!

Becuase my awesome Dad promised me a Gibson next Christmas cuz he got a raise if I saved my birthday money! And God believe me I will!

    Isn't he great?!

    ;D ;D ;D

    I'm so excited! Can't Wait!

    WOO HOOO!

CONGRATS zrAC/DC Angus! (Sorry about the handle screw up)

What is wrong with your current Epi?

Is there anything worth doing to it to help you tide over until next Christmas? ???

With Epi's, they usually suggest upgrading the pickups and hardware. Some Epi's I've played put some Gibson's to shame. Consider the rest of your signal chain. What is the weakest link and then work on that maybe. ;)

Are you satisfied with your amp and speaker cab? 8)

Honestly just keep saving for a couple of months, instead of waiting for a whole year.

why not sell it on eBay with a reserve? so if it does sell you get the amount you want for it and not have to wait a whole year.

Oh, and just some advice. My dad used to make promises like that to me, "do this and in <this amount of time> I'll do this for you." I dunno anything about your family, but usually when that time comes, money is an issue somehow and it gets put off; who wants to shovel out 500 bucks a year after a deal is made; and you should really only rely on yourself to make your own dreams come true.

Just my two cents; good luck with whatever you do :) If you do go for the Epi, you should get the one with the maestro tailpiece to make it more unique than the stock G400

Hang in there Angus! You have a guitar to play. Your gibson will come. Just don't be willing to settle for anything else. You got something to play in the meantime. Be persistent and patient, don't give up or settle for anything less. You will be happier in the end, especially when you start to get close to reaching your goal.
