I installed this high-tech straplock back in "78 or '79 after my SG and strap separated, at band practice, and the headstock crashed into the drum kit bending the sh!t out of one of the tuners... which led me to replace the original tuners with the Grovers that are on there to this day:

Those are the same type that I like to use.
