Media Center Edition should run everything just fine.  It is the same as Windows XP Professional minus the domain joining ability, which will not affect you in any way.  Both MCE and Professional are much more feature packed than Home edition.  Home much this affects you is another thing however.  I wouldn't base a purchase on the operating system, unless you're looking for a specific feature that one does not provide.

In theory yes, but as I said, check the recording program you're going to use before making this decision. There are conflicts built in to it with some software. This is documented, so its easy to find per software package.

Before I became a touring/recording musician I was a professional recording engineer and before that a Network/PC Analyst for 5 years at a 3500 client call center.

Mostly people no one here will have ever heard of or care about. Ive done work with several artists in the christian pop/rock genre as well as touring to support a few projects of my own. I work regularly with a couple of national touring rock/pop groups who had their biggest peak in the mid 90's college rock days. I even sub in with a regional funk group sometimes when their guitar player is in the slammer (which he tends to do a couple times a year). ha ha.

But nothing new about any of this. Ive been doing all this ever since I came to this board. I'm currently grounded and working at a local music complex with a music store, repair shop, performance center, and recording studio all in one. Cool place to pass some time until some things kick off in early '06.

I remember you talking about this awhile back.
Although CHRISTIAN music gets pigeon-holed alot,
there are some great performers out there that don't
fit the mold: VIGILANTES OF LOVE, MARK HEARD, JARS OF CLAY...
