Welcome! That is some smooooth technique in your video, obviously you have been playing for quite some time. Glad you finally got around to trying an SG...:D I went the other way, started on Gibsons, and finally after about 15 years got tempted by a used Fender (Mexican Strat) in a music store. I didn't realize what I was missing either, and it inspired and improved my playing across the board after a couple of years in the doldrums. Sometimes you just gotta shake things up a bit.

Welcome, from Canada. Great hybrid picking there. Working on that myself for the first time in my 49 years of playing. Not likely that I'll get that good. Do you play other guitars too ?

Dear SG players
My name is Uffe Steen
Im looking foreward to read and share SG thoughts here.
After many years as a strat player I needed something new .
This is the newest SG Tribute LH (nut switched upside down for me)

I notice you keep your strings strung right-handed and play the guitar "upside down" lefty. Have an affinity for Albert King? He did the same thing on a flying V. Nice playing on SitNoL and welcome.

Uffe,

I’ve checked out some of your other videos and really like your stuff.

I even bought a couple of your songs on iTunes, without even listening to them first!

By the way, how is your guitar tuned?

Welcome to the Monkey House...

I listened carefully to your video and really enjoyed your tone and your technique. Thank you for posting it.

I too came to the SG after playing other instruments for years (decades in my case). I was an acoustic guitar player and Fender Bass player. My first SG was my gift to
myself for attaining the age of 60. That was in 2008, and
my love affair with the SG continues.

To me, the SG is very versatile and can play many different styles, and the instrument sounds fine played quietly and cleanly as well as played loud and crunchy.
It seems to me that the SG can enhance any music its
owner is capable of.

we like to see photographs of each others instruments
as well as videos. Our motto here is:

PICTURES, OR IT
NEVER HAPPENED
