I figured that was what he was talking but I thought maybe he had meant to reply to a thread.

Do you think this one will go for as fast as the Silverburst GOW? It is basically an SG-3 with single coil pickups. Yet it looks so much nicer in my opinion. I love the color.

I'm not sold on the look. I think it would really have to knock me out with it's sound before I was convinced it was better than a Classic. Also, the specs on the Gibson site list a '6-position dial pointer.' I wonder what the 6th position does. All three pickups on at once, or what?

Is there a clip with this guitar so I can hear what it sounds like.

I have never heard those particular pickups before. Why not P-90s?

Does it sound like a strat?

I see it as a curiosity, selling a few until the limited market is saturated.
The ONLY single coil the Gods see fit to grace a Gibson are P-90's.

However, its novelty may be collectible at some point in the future.
Many oddball guitars become collectible in the future.

I love single coils, own a bunch of 'em in other guitars, but this seems like an answer to a question I never asked. I'm sure it has a very distinct personality and will find some players to fall in love with it.

    What's the list price?

Yes they do. Melody Makers have been here since 1959 and the P-90 since 1946. Both are old school ;)

Why does everyone not like the chickenhead knob(s)?

I just picked mine up yesterday.  First of all, it's a 5-way switch not 6.  It's very close to a Strat sound which is what I was hoping for as I don't feel as comfortable playing my Strat as I do playing an SG.  The satin finish is very nice, the color is okay (not something I would choose).  The thing that bothers me about the pickups is that there is no cover on them to protect the coils - just that crappy black masking tape.  I don't mind the chicken head switch except that the set screw doesn't screw into the post so there is some play on it and you have to be careful when adjusting it.  I'm one of the few here (maybe the only) that is not a big fan of P-90's so I love the idea of an SG with single coils.  The price is $949 with hardshell case (more or less depending on where you get it) so I think it's a very reasonably priced guitar - as compared to the classic which is $50 more and comes with a gig bag.  I'll try to post some pics in the next day or two.
