Hi all, lots of great reading.
I recently purchased two SG style epis. One a 2010 SG and one that turned out to be fantastic and is a 97 Korean G400.
The bridge pickup has been swapped out to a dimarzo. I may upgrade the electrics at some stage and swap out the tuners as one is bent. In the neck pick up cavity there is a 3 symbol. Any ideas what that means?

I think you will find that there are all sorts of things written inside pickup cavities on most makes of guitars but I've only found PRS to be appertaining to the actual guitar build :-

Others don't seem to point to anything quite as obvious.

Rickenbacker always have stuff written inside the control cavity, not sure what it all means...
330 could be a model number, but if you see the whole guitar it would be quite obvious what the model was so why write it inside?

It all must mean something to somebody.

For the PRS, is the writing under the finish ?

As for the Ricky, maybe it was part identification before the built ?

Yes the PRS was under the finish, but I had a Swamp Ash Special where it was all written in sharpie on top of the finish.
The Rickenbackers always look like a piece of masking tape was covering some of the writing when the colour was applied and removed before the clear coat was sprayed.
