As if five SGs wasnt enough I just bought a sixth SG today
Hold your hats and pants, i paid 165 Euros for it....its the Epiphone G400 made in Samick , Korea, april 1989
Two piece mahogany body, no veneer, neck joint of late 60s, scarf joint, open coil humbuckers, near mint condition ! For more than 32 years old guitar!
I will need to get it to the luthier as the neck is slightly up-bowed and i want to swap the nut for the Tusq
I didnt check the cavity yet and i dont know what type of humbuckers are these, but the guitar works well sounds fine, i just plugged it as i wanted to know if the pots and everything works. It does
I didnt like the headstock at first as i am used to the clipped ears headstock on Epiphones, but the more i look at the guitar in the guitar stand, the more that headstock grows on me.
Its like a Gibson special with two-ply small pickguard, no crown inlay logo on the headstock, the only differnce would be that it doesnt have one piece neck as the Gibson. I have to wait until i have it set by the luthier and play it properly
What do you guys think?
Also can i consider this a vintage guitar? Its closer to 1961 than to 2021
