I paid 2299 USD for mine, in Australia I think the best quote I got was around 3.5k.
Congratulation, That is in deed a nice Guitar and Amp combo.
I figured the guy was going by MSRP instead of what a used one is actually selling for. Id say you got a good deal man.
Cheers. I had a bud ship it to me from NYC as the dealer couldn't ship to au. Shipping was only about 130, lucked out huh?
Grats !!! Sick guitar and amp :)
I'd say this was not a guitar to modify... or at least not to modify in ways that
can't be put right again. People usually buy this because they want what it can
do, not to try out aftermarket extras. Good choice, I'd say you have gotten a
good deal on one of the best guitars ever made.
I'm a habitual modifier of guitars, in spite of the comment above. I almost can't
leave them alone, and really enjoy taking them apart and tweaking little aspects
of them. But I also have several venerable old warhorses that i keep stock, as
much as possible, because I regard them as something different and important
that gets more rare every year. I gig with these and take care of them.
I recently bought a 2012 Gibson SG special '70s tribute. I don't know how many of
these were made, they were only produced for about a year or so. Gibson discontinued
this model and sold them off at deep discounts, which I decided I couldn't resist.
So I have done a few superficial mods to please my sense of aesthetics, but kept all
the original parts along with the original paperwork and bill of sale, and if I died and
my daughter decided to sell it, the buyer couldn't complain or try to short her if the value goes up. (as I hope it will).
Yours may also be a model that sold in smaller numbers, usually the higher priced models are like that. All the more reason to keep it stock. It's truly a lovely SG.
Hey, you wouldn't tell me the price on post #7, but now you reveal it in post #21! WTF?
Guess I'm no gentleman
