Hi
I've been (for longer than I want to mention) building a replica of Tony Iommi's Old Boy SG.
It came about because the shape of the Re-issue (bevels etc.) that JD is now making seems to be based more on the Monkey Guitar rather than the original Old Boy.
I've almost got it finished and was wondering how I could post a picture for your scrutiny?
I built it using an Ibanez super '70s guitar.
I added a zero fret and extended the fingerboard to 24 frets.
I also cut the existing block inlays into crosses reinstalled them, filled and stained the fretboard to imitate ebony.
The pick-up covers are made from aluminium drink coasters that I shaped and pollished.
The neck pickup is a dummy but the bridge is a Bill Lawrence L-500 that I customised to make fit into pickup cover.
The see-through scratch plate is cut from a perspex picture frame!
I resprayed the whole thing black.
How do I go about posting a picture so you guys can tell me what you think?

Wow thats quite a project. The easiest way to post pictures is to make an account at www.photobucket.com and upload the pictures to there and then paste the IMG link from photobucket here on the forum.

I'll only build one if I can get the proper pickups for it.

I was successful getting the JB pickups for the Monkey SG so I'll get them for Old Boy !

Thanks guys!
If you try this link it might take you there!?

For some reason I extended the fretboard a bit too much and the pick gaurd screws between the pick ups are a bit off center but....

It's a right handed guitar but I reversed one of the pictures for comparison to the real thing.

Very nice!
I was actually trying to find a bridge like the first one that was on it.
It looked very similar to this one but had a black 'stop piece' on it instead of the tuners.
The one on mine is a chunk of bent steel that I painted matt black!
