Seymour Duncan mayhem distortion set with open humbucker covers ,tp6 fine tune tailpiece,speed knobs,knurled aluminium switch tip, strap locks "a must have !" and a 50s wiring harness. I got a good price on it used because of some light scratches and some tiny dings. With the money I saved from buying it used I knew I could mod it Into my dream guitar. Sorry my pics aren't so clean I'll try and load some better ones soon. The grain is really beautiful but my I pad is ancient and doesn't take pics so well. Sorry folks I forgot that I already post this pic and description " my last beer tasted a little too good"!

Ooh I like the TP6 tailpiece and the speed knobs. Actually Ibanez makes knobs with a rubber grip I may look into. The factory ones I have are slippery as hell.

If you wanna use the ibanez speed knobs be sure and check the spline size count to make sure they will fit the USA pot shafts. The tp6 is great for tuning on the fly and string changes although I've had two high e strings actually unravel at the ball end. I hope it's just a bad batch of strings.

Thanks for the tip. I just started using D'Addario NYXL's and they seem to be pretty good so far. In my experience, they seem to hold tuning better than the standard XL's. They are a bit more expensive though of course.

It's a epiphone LP custom I bought for about 150.00 Canadian used because it had a broken headstock. Here comes the fun part someone tried to glue it back with some contact cement "brilliant right!" I tried everything to get that stuff outta there but I gave up because the headstock had straight break "nothing structural to glue to" I decided to get my dremel router and rout two half circles on the back of the neck were the break was. Then after shaping with sand paper I glued two half circles of the wrong type of mahogany "sapele I believe it's called" into the half circle routs and clamped it. Sanded it back to the neck shape and had taken most of the paint and varnish off in that spot. Here's the crazy part the part I had fixed and sanded felt so slick and smooth, and to be sure it wasn't just me I would let other friends try it without telling the my thoughts and they would always say "man that spot feels so nice slick and fast" I said hell with it and sanded the whole effin neck down! I then took of the switch washer, pickguard, and pup covers "I Steve Jones'ed it". Now when I have anyone come over its the first guitar they reach for it plays like a dream I absolutely love it and so does everyone else. We call it Jonesy!

That is a great story. That's so cool how you go it so cheap and the way you "saved" it. Very clever on how you joined the wood and also discovered by accident how awesome a sanded neck feels. That sounds really frickin' resourceful and fun, lol. I think you got me beat with your luthier skills on that one. I don't have a dremel. I've done plenty of setups, soldering, fret end dressings, and fret polishing, but not fret installing or leveling, although I'd love to someday. I also have a stew-mac gauge for checking sting height at the nut and nut files. Sooo much easier than using feeler gauges. Sometimes I wonder if I waste too much time messing with my guitars, and not enough time playing them. It's all good though.

I'm gonna start a "go fund me" for you to get a camera. You're pics make me double check how much I drank, lol.

Hey thanks I sure as sh1t ain't no luthier you sound like you've got the real skills for were it counts setups and fret dressing are a very important skill to posses. I'm just a half assed wood worker in the basement "made sure the beers came after the operation" really just a guy who said [email protected] it I'm gonna try and do this. If I messed it up I could always bring it somewhere else to be fixed. Worst case scenario I'm out 150.00 and we all know people who have lost a lot more. But am I glad it worked out. I love the go fund me. I gotta get a new cell phone dammit I'm trying.

Lol, "made sure the beers came after" - always a good move. Although I am guilty of sipping bourbon when polishing frets. It's a tedious task, and doesn't require a lot of accuracy.

Oh im partial to scotch in these winter months. Gotta have have scotch on the rocks after shovelling the driveway aaaaand then the beers lol. If you ever find a project Gibson/epiphone with a headstock break just read up on it and take your time and ask questions here on the forum all these cats have been cool with me so far and I can be a handfull.

I love the grain. It still looks brand new too!
