^ Is that a metrognome in the picture?

Can't take credit for that one - David Bowie "The Laughing Gnome"

HahaIHaha by that you mean a Gnome that keeps excellent time and dresses fashionable while being very secure with his sexuality but does not judge, then yes :D

Just thought I would add a contemporary version here of a de-robotted SG in Metallic Green with bound headstock and carbon fiber guard.. I am fixing the pot for the bridge tone which was disconnected when someone removed the robot.. 20200917_003326_resized.jpg 20200917_004258_resized.jpg

I love the simplicity of my tribute. The maple neck feels great and the pickups rock. I wanted something other than red or black that the standards offer. The satin walnut is beautiful. SG2.jpg

It's an extra step above say the binding on the SG classic neck. It's thin biding on the headstock, but a nice touch.. I got the pots squared away.. just not sure about leaving that tail piece in there as it has ceramic or resin inserts to isolate the feed from the robot to individual strings for adjusting the tuning.. may influence tone a bit perhaps?

Forgive my asking, but is that factory? Or did you have the binding added?

CB got it right above.. It was what i liked about the robots.. the colors and the headstock binding as well as the carbon fiber guard.. It just does not sound as clear as my others.. perhaps its the 498T I dont get along with since i have SHAW and T-TOP replicas in my other SG's.. just not as clear.. but This original ROBOT system was slick even had many problems.. unlike the G-force version where the brain was up with the tuners, this had the brain in the control cavity. Piezo saddle pickups sent information via a hole under the B string tunomatic to the control cavity brain, then information went once again to the bridge via a hole under the B string on the tail piece.. and went up the strings to the tuners on the headstock for making adjustments. Very slick, but i understand it had loads of issues. The tail piece string paths have white ceramic or resin to keep the bridge separated from the individual strings. perhaps this is a cause for the lack of a metal MASS from the tailpiece. not sure, but I am just not bonding with this guitar? Perhaps a tailpiece replacement is next on my list? Looks great however.. Sorry for stealing this thread I should start a "ROBOT SG" thread.. lol 20201002_141115_resized.jpg

    1. l number, and no "made in usa". I bought this guitar in 1974 from a reputable dealer of Gibsons, Fenders, etc. and have had it ever since! It still plays like a fretless wonder and has no issues, but I haven't gigged it for years, due to its value. I want to post some fotos, but am not sure how ( 71 years old and not computer literate!!) Any Help would be appreciated.

Hi! I have an SG Tobacco Sunburst 1973, Authenticated by Village Guitars in the UK. Has a very unusual serial number, and no "made in usa".
