So. I went exploring today, in the cavity of my 50's Tribute SG. Talk about odd!! Like nothing I've seen before. Is...is that a chipboard in there? And clip-like connectors? And what's that green dip-switch looking thing? Does it actually switch something? Pretty different from what I've seen inside guitars before.

Anyone?

*so, can you tell I'm new to my SG yet? lolz

Uhm......... you have a "Modern" Gibson product. ;)
Upside----swapping pickups is a SINCH with NO SOLDER required! :dude::yesway:
uhm...providing you buy the Gibson pups WITH the white connector clip

Like Min-e-tune.....some folks HATE the circuit board---some love it-- you will need to formulate your own opinions
and this takes -----wait for it---- HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of work and practice and PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY
So ROCK THE FOOK OUT OF IT and see what happens lol :dude::dude::dude::dude:

LOL I ma not sure about the switch --post a pic ---I will make something up----

The screen printed headstock logo is for saving the whales.......so the switch maybe a counter balance for neck dive? :hmm::confused::hmm:

well on most TOM and Stop tailpiece geetars theres a ground wire that runs from under the Tailpiece studs to the control cavity.on factory equiped guitars with Bigsbys i suspect the ground runs from under the bridge to control cavity.just a ground for the hardware

Yep, that's the PCB (printed circuit board).
