Question about Gibson's electronics(2020-present)

Hopefully this can be answered with little effort.

Does Gibson still use the SMT(PCB) circuitry on there product lines?

If not, what year did they stop producing and went back to convential soldering?

I own a 2016 SG Faded T and mine has the SMT board.

It depends on the model. The Standard is still using a PCB. The Standard '61 went back to hand-wiring in May of 2019. The Special has been hand-wired since 2019.

I think the original series is hand wired and the modern series are all board.

Those PCB have through hole components, not SMD (surface mount devices).

Electrons don’t care if components use PTP (point to point) wiring vs installed on PCB.

The only advantage of PTP wiring is that it may be easier for some folks to change components.
