REALLY weird SG

    hey guys. I've got this really strange looking SG. The pots and SN say it's a '68, but it's not like any othe SG I've ever seen. It has an LP headstock and Melody Maker pups.......

    BTW.....this one happens to be tuned for playing bluegrass Mr. Weasel-Man, not that stuff you'd expect from that spandex wearing bunch.......hmmmm, wonder if I have any spandex-wearer pics laying around to demonstrate...hmmm......lemmme look....

    can you take the pic gaurd off?? Looks like a Jr thats been routed out, and singlecoils put in.

    I can't figger out how to get it off. Do I have someone take the pickup things out first?

    If I had to guess I'd say just unscrewing the pickgaurd should do. It looks like the pups are mounted to it.

    I took all 5 strings off and there's 6 screws that go down the middle of each pickup. I'll take those out first.

    Those are to adjust the pickup magnet height I think. The pick guard should come off with the screws around the outer edge of the pick guard.

    Dang! now I don't remember which screw came out of which hole and now it sounds awful! do I need to put the same screws back in the same hole they came out of or does it matter? some of them were loose and sticking up more than others anyway so maybe they were worn out and I need new ones?

    it should just be the outter screws, which from the pics is only 2 of them

    hmm yea take out every screw you can find on the guitar you will get something loose eventualy is this guy that dumb?

    OBVIOUSLY! (perhaps ignorant is the proper word, depending on who your statement is refering to as i placed it in it's new context....
