I agree on the minimal weight needed to feel a difference. I had a guitar that was light in the heel. Swapped the one piece wrap around bridge/stop for one of the intonatable types (not for weight, but because the bridge had issues). Couldn't have been more than a couple ounces difference, but it was noticeable in the balance.

Dude was talking about spending over $10 to add ONE ounce. But hey, if it works for you then great.
I know a guy that nailed a dead fish to his bass for effect.

Nice to know humor is appreciated sometimes.

Hey, The world used to be fun / funnier & lots of funny $#it used to be said. We could laugh at ourselves & laugh together.
I think we need to go back to that a bit & get over ourselves & our bull-$#it so, ya, laugh away! lol.

Now where is that spare change I got from Quick Check?? I got neck adjustments to do!

    BR BBBBBBB,

    LAUGH WILL YA.
When I bought my first guitar, 1979 LP Std, I am pretty sure the heft of it, definitely could have made me never even hear of neck dive, had I not sold it in 1991 like a dumbazz and now own 15 guitars and basses and oodles of drums to replace the itch that guitar scratched.

Now another serious mod I considered that flies alongside the lighter tuners, add weight to the control cavity, get a leather strap method.

My mind always spends at least 1/3 of the day coming up with creative work arounds or new ideas.
If I had neck diving SG's, I would modify my SG strap since none of mine have heavy tuners like Grovers.

If I had a slippery woven material type strap, I would get something to affix an effective amount of weight to my strap. If I have a grippy leather strap, it should solve this, or if a slippery leather strap, I would do a similar modification as the woven type.

all this talk about neck dive and here I just bought some Kluson locking tuners and metal nobs to replace the plastic ones for my new SG Tribute. Those nobs will add a few ounces. Oh well, I don't gig with this anyway.

I know I posted the cure for SG neck dive as to play some Yamaha versions of the SG,

Now for a demo of how to cure any semblance of neck dive in a Gib SG.

Perfect playing form. Notice when Pete let's go and leans over a bit and the guitar starts to dive a little. The fix is to grab it in both hands, windmill and shake the Shlt out of it, and make the SOB behave itself.

That is the textbook performance of what a R&R show should be.

It's so cool to see the classic line up just in fine form and killing it, especially when Keith isn't all f'ed up on elephant tranquilizers or whatever and in the moment and looking so joyous. I love the very end of this video where Pete takes of his SG Special and puts on...another SG Special!
