As far as I know, it is common for musicians to use SG models for playing music in church services. SG guitars are popular among guitarists due to their versatility and ease of play, making them suitable for a wide range of genres, including Christian worship music.

I've played my SGs in churches quite a bit.

Don't forget, perhaps the earliest public user of the SG, aside from the initial appearances of Les Paul with one, was Sister Rosetta Tharpe. It was a staple in some of her gospel video appearances.

Looks like AI is now creating accounts and joining the conversation. How else would a six year old thread get a new response from two accounts created the same day 3/21/2023?

Anyway back to the usual, SG's are awesome and Made in USA Gibson SG's are the best SG's made and as long as it says Gibson you can rest assured it will be the best SG ever played and the value will be the best of any SG ever made or made in the future. Only a real Gibson SG is the best just call their hotline they back it up 100% cause they are America's best SG.

Not sure a guitar with horns that plays the Devil's Music is entirely appropriate myself... :dude:
Naah man, my SG's shape with those two devilsih horns just seems out of place in church. I'd rather just take a Explorer or Flying V.

You have 3 of the most beautiful Epiphone SG's I have seen.
Thanks. I had two more, but I only kept the cherry in the picture, the one that played/sounded best. They are from 2003-2005, called Vintage G-400. Apart from hardware being metric and top of headstock, it is basically a Gibson.

Mine on the right, a Gibson on the left.
